I wanted to write a blog entry about my discussion starter in class.  Honestly I was unsure of what to expect as far as a reaction from the class but I felt this was such a touching video that I just had to share it.  When I saw it for the first time it brought tears to my eyes.  Child abuse is such a huge issue but yet it is rarely talked about.  My goal was to open more peoples eyes and for everyone to see and feel what that little girl was going through.  A lot of students here will be faced with this horrifying thing in the future as teachers.  In the video when it says, “the teacher see’s but she doesn’t ask.”  This is something that needs to not happen.  If you see someone, a child, with bruises or one that looks as though they are being niglected make an affort.  Tell someone.. do something about it because you never know, you just might save that childs life.  Many people say they wouldnt know what to do because if they say something they fear what will happen to the child when they go home that night.. this is definately something that is scary and almost makes you not want to speak up, but yet if you dont say anything.. the abuse might continue for years down the road and may be more damaging to the child.  As future teachers and members of this community we need to help spread awareness of this issue and help save the lives of innoccent victims.. you have to start somewhere, when you see a child who you think might be being abused dont just pass them by.. imagine it was you or your child.. answer their cry for help and possibly save their life.

Here is the video if anyone would like to watch it again
